Student's
and Teacher's relation is famous in India for years. we can say that this relationship has originated in India only. Teachers are the one who guides us, they analyze us and provide a positive platform to explore us. But it's very unfortunate that in growing India the number of teachers or professors are decreasing. According to the report of last
November, IIT Bombay had the vacancy of 38.66%, Kharagpur of 42.42%,
Roorkee of 41.88%, Delhi of 33.12%, Guwahati of 26.50% and IIT BHU of
53.39% professors. Let me introduce that these are not new IITs. These all are very reputed institutions in India, But still Facing faculty problems. This is not just a case in IIT and IIM, there is also the vacancy crisis in top medical institutions in India like AIIMS. AIIMS
Bhopal started clinical services on August 15, 2012, and had filled only
73 of the 327 sanctioned slots for senior resident doctors. This is not
just a problem but a loss of the education sector. If this rate continues then the future of students is in threat.
Why are we facing this faculty crisis?
Till
date, I never heard that anyone wants to become a teacher one day. In day to day growing world and especially competitive world everyone wants to be a doctor, engineer Business tycoon and want to live a standard life. If we are not sowing seed in the present than how could we get the fruit in the future? On 17 August our Prime Minister said that we need to create an atmosphere where our youngsters want to be the teacher and educate others. we celebrate 5th September as teachers day every year,
why can't every month? To encourage students to become a teacher one day,
we have to put a lot of effort into it. we are living in the technological world. Every time we are in touch with each and every aspect of India and the world. So let's connect our teachers also. We are so lucky that we have a central education ministry and education ministries in states also. They should organize camps for teachers and through that, our teachers get a chance to explore themself. That camp should organize a technological festival, through which they are able to learn new things through technology and imparts the same to students.
When they learn new things then they will always be curious to teach the
new techniques to their students also.
On the eve of Teacher's day, there should be progress organized up to district level or state level and through these, teachers with the best performance should be awarded or rewarded. Our PM also said that we have big placements in leading Business schools, in the same way, why can't we have placement recruiting teachers with good pay packages? I
wish whatever our PM had said should be implemented and become a reality one day. All these activities encourage not only the teachers but students also, to go ahead in this field and to explore more and more. First, we have to focus on the maintainers of present universities and institutions and, then go with the construction of new universities.
Our former president Dr. Kalam has also talked about the qualities of a teacher i.e. "Teacher Lover Teaching (You should be passionate about giving your knowledge); Teacher Encourages Question from Students (You should let them think beyond your teaching); Teacher Puts the Student Ahead; Create Pressure on the Student to Explore own capabilities". he further said that he was always fortunate and blessed to have one or two great teachers during every phase of my educational period between 1936 – 1957. The evolution of the oath has resulted from what I have experienced and what I have felt and grown through my teachers. The first oath talks about the teacher loving teaching and teaching being the soul of the teacher.
Without Teachers, Mentors and a Guide imagination of new India are futile ones.
